Vincit Omnia Veritas- An individual philosophy of Truth
I think of Truth as authenticity, as the part of us which is most real, the part of us which conquers all falsehoods that surround us.
The once was a man who lived in the space in between, he lived in the space between what is and what was not. This space afforded him the power to live through what was and to create what was not such that he was aware of all realities that he came across.
The most interesting thing about living in the in-between was the ability to see the unseen, hear the unheard, and be what he could not otherwise be. This afforded him, the chance to be more than one thing at a time, or even better, he was afforded the opportunity to be everything he could be whenever he could be.
In his search for life, and its meaning he came to ask himself a question on the Truth. Truth like many concepts on this Earth exists in relativity. That there is only truth because of the existence of falsehood. The world around us, through our societies, has dictated what these Truths and Falsehoods are.
The hunger that our adventurous friend had, was the hunger to seek for the Truth which was liberating and freeing. A truth which can bring out his most authentic self, for we are neither here nor there, ever so mixed in versions of what is True that we have to some reason lost that which made us authentic and true.
Happy is he who finds the truth and follows the truth for this truth is a guiding light which brings one ever so closely to themselves. The truth that allows one to be the best version of themselves that they can be.
This is the truth that our adventurous friend sought to look for in life. However, in search of this truth, they were certain things which he had to let go, certain things which he had to accept, and others which he had to refuse for there is no knowing without first un-knowing.
Once again living within the margin of contradiction, there is no being without first losing oneself and surrendering completely to the pursuit of the truth.
It is the authenticity of what is and what is not, for both cannot be without the other.
Authenticity
At what point do I know that I am being my most authentic self?
That, what I do and say is me being my most authentic self. The point of knowing that these very actions are a reflection of who I am.
Until the time that our friend sought to search for the truth, he was living in falsehood, he was living in what he believed to a misrepresentation of who he truly was. If not, he would not have bothered to venture into such a journey.
I can not, in this text define what it means to be authentic and or true, I cannot define what the truth is because of the many nuances of the term.
However, in the end, he finds the truth, but the truth is not what he expected, the truth was hurtful, surprising, joyful, it brought both joy and sadness for which he had to accept for it was at this point that he became fulfilled. The Truth was the exact opposite of what he desired… For the truth Is, the truth is a guiding light, it is life eternal.
We are limited in our own way of thinking, the mind conceives and makes up certain things that we say is true, thus these very impressions that we develop begin to give us a false or limited view.
We need to humble ourselves before life and accept that which is taking place, taking the time to inwardly look at who we are and what we capable of doing, such that through this process the Truth may be made more clear and that it may be revealed.
We are not too far from the truth, it is not some abstract notion that we search for and strive to achieve but the truth is the reality of who we are, it is in us. It is only by having an inward reflection of the self that we come to discovering who we truly are.
The truth plays a vital and important role in who we are because the only reason we search for who we are is to know the truth. We can say that it is both a necessary and sufficient condition for existence.
We are constantly living in a conceptual understanding of who we think we are, which is informed by our senses. What we see, hear, touch, taste, and smell greatly influence who we think we are. So, we base the definition of who we are on these attributes.
“I am an attentive person” — influenced by the past experiences of how well we listen to people. This only because we were told that we are good listeners. For such a conclusion did not come by naturally. It was not a conscious decision that we took.
To return to authenticity is to return to that part of the self which defines itself not through its past experiences but rather by who it is in that present moment.

The truth conquers all
